United States Model 1873 Socket Bayonet with Scabbard. The blade and socket are blued with quite a bit of wear to the bluing, bayonet is approximately 21 inches overall length with a 3-inch socket and 18-inch blade. “U.S.” marked on blade. Heavily worn condition with surface corrosion and rust. Additional Notes: The standard issue socket bayonet for the Model 1873 .45‑70 Trapdoor rifle, used through the Indian Wars era.
